Yes, but what if all she has with her at the time is that ratty old tote bag which is the only one that can carry her shoes, water bottle, towel and work clothes? Good thing she has really nice pants on.

Should I be embarrassed to admit that I donât own a ratty old tote bag? When I do need to take along a change of clothes, I use a Longchamp zip tote - something I highly recommend to everyone for travel. It folds up nice and small, and then expands to hold lots of goodies. The most fantastic tote ever created - I have it in multiple colors. I like the version with the longer handles, so I can wear it on my shoulder.

Canam -

Oh, dear, you havenât been paying attention! G-mom is one of our premier handbag divas!

If we are ever at an event at a college and see a 5â7" woman with an exquisite bag and an LV cosmetics bag tucked in we will know that we have met our girl! If she has a ziplock bag inside it might be me!

If it helps, anthracite is a very pure form of coal, so I would (as a geologist) assume it would be blackest black, but Iâll bet itâs kind of gray/black.

This group is so funnyâtoo bad we canât all meet up for lattes after our exercise class/dance class/running.

Re the Nike Dri-Fit pants and capris, I see that there is a style with more cotton and one with all synthetic. Is the synthetic version better for exercise wear because it will stay dry better? I usually prefer cotton because synthetics make me too hot.

Re sports bras: I have had good luck with the Title Nine catalog. They have excellent descriptions of each bra. I just bought several kinds and sent back the ones that didnât fit. They recently sent me a bra catalog with all their styles in it.

Longchamp zip tote for $145 and itâs your gym bag and you have multiples? Wow.
I wish I lived on Gourmetmomâs planet or could maybe even visit for a few daysâŠsigh.

Bookiemom -

The Nike Dri-Fit pant in question is completely synthetic - polyester and a small amount of spandex. I couldnât imagine wearing such a thing years ago, but it really a good fabric for workouts. Cotton becomes damp and it doesnât dry quickly, which can be uncomfortable. The poly/spandex holds its shape - doesnât twist or sag. For all those interested, I suggest trying them on to see how they fit and feel - very much a personal preference.

You guys are starting to make me feel guilty about my handbag, shall I say, fetish.

There are many worse fetishes, Gourmetmom. I suspect that you are in a different tax bracket than many of us!

Nope, Gourmetmom, donât feel guilty! I think we are all allowed our obsessions, quirks, etc., on this thread - as long as we maintain our ability to laugh at ourselves.

Gourmetmom, if you ever have that feeling, ask me about how many pearls I own. More than I wear, is the answer. Iâm more prone to buying nothing and then when I do buy, having to go wildly high end. But I mow my own lawn and eat organic and try to be polite and responsible and show up on time. So I hope it all evens out in the end:).

As I mentioned before, my 6 or so great purses all came from the likes of TJ Maxx, Century 21, etc. Truth be told, Iâd probably get into shoes, too, but I have a D width foot so I can only buy from zappos and even there the selection is not all that great. I can walk by the shoe department at Nordstrom and not even be tempted because all they have in my size are SAS trainers.

Alum - could I borrow a strand?

I used to wear pearls. (I was involved for a few years with a guy who worked for a jewlery retailer, so I have some pretty nice souvineers of the relationship.) I had always heard that pearls should be restrung periodically. Iâd had my pearls for about 15 years and theyâd never been restrung so I had it done. And of course, within a year of being restrung, they broke. I was mad but didnât take them backâŠI guess thatâs been about 8 years ago. I wonder if there is anyone trustworthy out there who will do a good job?

workn - yeah, sure! Want a matching bracelet and studs? Although I have to say, Iâm not one to wear the strand+plus simple studs combo. My studs have a little diamond on them. Somehow that makes me feel more cutting edge. Ha. Takes so little. The pearl acquisition was accidental. Made for great blog photos though:). For restringing, I am surprised you had a bad experience. Do you have a lot of reputable jewelers where you live? Thereâs a good blog BTW, passagedesperles - you could email the author and ask her how to find a good source. She knows A LOT about pearls.

sorry to change the subject but I am still back on the lululemon posts ![]()
I do have pearls somewhere, but I am just not a jewelry sort of person except occasionally.

I went to the lucy store ( thought it was lululemon, but that was across the mall) & bought a bra top and capris.

More expensive than my gym stuff from target, and I was going to take it back, but it fits really well and doesnât seem like it will get stretched out in two months.

( then I went to lululemon, but sold out of my size bra, even on line :(- I wish that either of those stores also had shoes and socks- I like one stop shopping- but the mall only has a cole-hann shoe store, a kids shoe store, and one that seems to get one in each size and that is it- so I ordered some at Zappos- cause I can just send back what doesnât fit)

I expect if you are a jewelry sort of gal, that pearls would look smashing with your yoga gear
:)

All right, I just Googled lululemon (what the heck is lululemon?) and there is one about a mile from my house. :o

Lululemon = heck, we came up with this word which means nothing so we can easily trademark it! :)

MWM2k- Chip who started lululemon is rumoured to have picked the name as a way to make it very chic to Asian cultures because the bags would be full of âLsâ which are not seen so much in Asia, giving the items the prestige of being rare and imported.

The company began in Vancouver which is totally full of HK peeps who moved before GB gave up HK to China. You had to have serious money to qualify so there are tons of financially well off Asians in Van.

It used to be very prestigious in Canada to have American Brands (like A&F) which were not sold there, it meant you had traveled abroadâŠat least it was prestigious for HS girls :D

DDs first pair are nearly 10 years old and still going strong. It has been fun to watch the brand spread across the US, though in our mall near the border (in the US) you ALWAYS know the Canadians because they are âallâ wearing their lulus shopping

If you know your size & style, there is clearance gear online:

http://shop.lululemon.com/pl/c/830.html

Why do these lululemon pants of wonder only go up to size 12? Humpf. There are many women who work out who have money to spend on nice workout wear who are larger than size 12. The company should take a ride on the clue bus. Maybe they are geared more toward the dance field and smaller Asian women.

Re the name: I kept reading it as lulule-mon, with the accent on the last syllable. Finally I saw lulu + lemon!

I tried on the famous-on-CC Nike dri-fit pants today at Nordstrom Rack. Very nice fabric and styleâI can see why so many of you like them. But sadlyâŠthey do not fit me nicely in the crotch area. Far too revealing (I am long-waisted, I think, or perhaps just too much tummy.) I will try the recommended ones from Target next.

Well, thanks bookiemom- I was reading it the same way!
