Big congrats on the new bags, justamom & blankmom!!!

I’m starting a list of all these brands, lulumon, kooba.

I was told pearls coming back in style. A whole section in Saks.
White shoes in winter, madras pants, and bathing suits in grocery stores, --some things I don’t like.

hahaha I have to agree. Although I can not help the crazy faces. I too sometimes mix metals. I have hoops that are tri- colors-yellow, white and rose. I can wear anything w/ them.

Very glad to hear pearls are coming back. I have been wearing them a lot lately, not because I am fashion forward but because I have several very nice pearl jewelry items–especially necklaces.

I love wearing jewelry. Unfortunately I do not wear costume jewelry–only the real stuff. I am becoming better, ie less old fashion, about mixing metals, wearing diamonds etc. w/ jeans, pearls w/ bathing suits, (just kidding!!).

Cool, blankmind. I got the Juliet in “berry”, and I’m in love with it! It is the biggest bag I’ve ever had (not counting my computer backpack, of course), but it is very light and stylish!

Jewelry, shoes, purses… I’m into collecting bras - LOL. My “collection” comprises Chantelles, Prima Donnas, Marie Jos and Shock Absorbers. I even have a few “vintage pieces” that are still in good condition despite heavy use - the original Shock Absorbers that I got at Victoria’s Secret. Anna Kournikova (sp?) was shilling for them, and I figured whatever worked for a reatively lousy tennis palyer would work for a couch potato like me! After trying one, I quickly tossed my Champions and Nikes!

OMG, I just realized that Alumother writes a blog that I read religiously. As in every day. And have even commented upon. I never put two and two together with the Princeton connection. Alumother, I adore your blog and your style.

I have to say I love zappos.
after roaming malls three or four times trying to find shoes- over a month long period ( that is all I can take), I ordered three pairs from zappos and they came about 14 hours later.
I just sent two of them back- but I am thinking on the third ( which is a pair of mizunos), and ordered another pair of running shoes ( sauconys I think), a small bag, and two pairs of slip on shoes to try. It is so much easier than going to the mall, and finding that they don’t have my size, that they go into the back room to look for more ( and come back 30 min later) and that I spent 20 minutes looking for parking and now I don’t remember where I put my car.

Blankmind, I looked up the Juliet on line and it looks gorgeous. Question, I have never spent over $120 on a handbag. Are these bags really in the $400-600 range? The bag is beautiful. Does it really hold up over time?

momlove, I’m a Juliet owner. I love it! It is feather-light, it has a single shoulder strap and fits great. All of my other bags held up nicely despite taking a lot of abuse due to schlepping kids to their sports practices and school functions, so I hope this one will last, too. I will never spend that much on a bag. I got mine at Nordy’s Rack for a fraction of the retial price. Kooba does sell their previous season’s bags at a discount on its website, so do check it out! Occasionally, their bags pop up on Ruelala or Gilt.

Good to know BunsenBurner. I am going to be at the Mall of America next week and there’s a Rack there, so I will definitely check it out. But I really love the Juliet in berry. Hm. I do have a birthday coming up…

Momlove, I got the Samantha bag. I found it on sale at Nordstrom, not Nordy’s Rack, though I did run over to the Rack to check for a deal after seeing that BunsenBurner found hers there, lol. It is expensive, yes, but the leather is beautiful, and has a unique look to it. All the Kooba’s look even better in person I think. I just love the color of mine, it’s a medium kind of caramel color, not too dark, not too light.

Nordstrom also has the Kooba Anna on sale now. I loved that one too!

Pizzagirl! Small, wonderful, world! Thank you for reading and for liking it besides:). Who are you among my commenters - did you comment with a name? I love it. Bookworm, FallGirl, blankmind, I will PM you. I have also put the blog URL on my profile here. So if you click my name you will see it. I can’t tell you guys how great it feels to be merging online identities from the two places I have really felt at home. I think the time on CC can be very encouraging to those of us with secret, long-held dreams.

Alumother, I’ve also been reading your blog for a while, although I’ve never commented. As a fellow Princeton alum, I’ve particularly loved reading your posts that have to with the best damn place of all. :)

Thank you Booklady! Well then I will have to write another Princeton post some day. Perhaps a reveal of my BEEYOOTIFUL Reunions jacket? Crouching tigers and all? The tradition of what is called in the men’s fashion blogging community, go to hell clothes.

Alumother - I was just telling my husband at dinner last night all about your blog and how it’s like going down a rabbit hole. I start on yours (love it! you write so well!), and then begin clicking on your references to other blogs and simply get lost - in Paris, or at some antique store in Texas. If I ever retire, I want to write and read more, and carry an awesome handbag. One topic I’d like to see you write about is what you consider to be a high-WASP dog breed. Surely some insights there…

Alumother, just wanted to say, I love your blog. I spend far more time reading and thinking about clothes, skincare and haircuts than doing anything about them, so its a perfect addition to my life.

Alumother, I love your blog. I admire your style (both writing and clothes :)!) - I will never be able to put together such an eloquent and elegant blog.

My Reunions jacket isn’t too bad, in the grand scheme of things (compared to dense orange and black plaid, anyway). I would love to see/read about yours!
