Nice… and pockets too!

Cute dress. I keep getting Instagram ads for that brand but I’ve never try them.

Nordstrom carries Marine Layer. That’s where I got my blazer!

Agree that 3 dots and Splendid are nice brands. Also check out Velvet – my favorite these days.

Wow… there is a Marine Layer store near me (in Boulder, CO… where we often go for lunch). I’ve not heard of them til now.

Wow, we have one here, too, apparently at the U Village! Have to check them out.

We have had a Marine Layer at our mall for awhile. The store is small and they don’t have everything that’s online.

Shopping is lousy in my city. The malls are both practically empty and Nordstrom closed during the pandemic though I think it was in the works before Covid. It probably saves me money. I remember when shopping was fun. To get to an area with a lot of shops I’d need to drive at least an hour or more.

Much has closed near us too. With that said, I don’t miss the big stores as much as I thought I would.

There is a small boutique in the town where we have a second home, and the owner has fabulous taste. I go in once or twice a year and always buy something that finds its way into the steady rotation. It’s not a way to find bargains (which I love!) but at least the (over-priced) things I own get worn. It’s also been a fun way to get introduced to new brands.

how did this hold up? Did it pill? I’ve got a stack of cashmere items from Quince in my shopping cart…

To be honest, I haven’t worn it that much since I bought it and haven’t had to clean it yet. I bought a baby blue color (which doesn’t seem to available now) as my plan was to use it during the mid-season when I’m still chilly but want to feel springy. I plan on doing the reverse for the next few weeks as I am not ready for fall colors but the nights are a bit chilly.

I do think the quality for the price is very good. No pilling so far.

I have a few pieces that I’m looking at longingly. I am holding off ordering until I have a chance to look through my current holdings - I’d say 90% of my sweaters are cashmere.

I also have this in my cart waiting. I had a leather trench I bought in Amsterdam 40 years ago and got rid of it long ago. I’m kicking myself now.

I love that coat! I actually just pressed go on this one from there: 100% Washed Leather Biker Jacket

…and in addition to the cashmere, I’m eyeing up the washable silk midi-length skirt.

I love that jacket but have weird “rules” for how I wear jackets and that length breaks too many of them.

I so want to be able to wear a skirt like that but bias cuts never seem to work for me. I’m thinking about getting one of their cashmere sweater dresses after some more experience with the basic sweater.

Wondering - are light wash, low-rise, bootcut jeans out of style? Going away for weekend and have a pair from Guess from about 15 years ago, lol. Could they be back in style? Seems like anything goes, almost. Just not positive, lol.

Well, based on some cursory googling, seems like low-rise, boot-cut (and everything else?!) is in this year…!

Light wash boot cut is in this year. The rises are a little higher but if you feel comfortable with the rise than go for it.

Jo Lynne Shane runs a blog and had a post on light wash boot cut jeans recently. That’s the blog name if you want to google.

I don’t think I can link to blogs on this forum.

Thanks!! I guess if you hold on to clothes long enough they come back. :joy:

I was thinking my boot-cut pants suits for work might have to go (about 13 years old!) but maybe not, now! Lol

Could use some feedback on color of cami, or underlay for an outfit I’m trying to put together. I have a pair of straight leg black pants with gold metallic on it. I was going to sell, but decided not too. I have to wear with a black heel, or they don’t lay properly at the hem. . I’m going to pair it with a black knit shorter blazer with triple gold buttons on each side. It tapers in at the waist and looks nice with it. I’m going to wear my Gucci belt with the big gold buckle. I don’t normally wear black, but I think this will be a chic look.

I tried on a black stretch tank with the blazer and it just looked like too much black. I tried white and it didn’t look right. I want to emphasis my belt, too. Maybe I need a lower neckline with a black tank to make it less noticeable. I think k a gold cami might be too blingy?

Help! Here are the pants. Since they are straight, it’s a nice lean look and makes my legs look a bit longer.

Would a cream/tan/beige be less intense than gold? (these colors may fall flat)

How about a copper (non-metallic in any way) or rusty pumpkin color???

I agree you definitely don’t need anymore bling with the metallic in the pant, the jacket buttons, the belt.
