Dressing Young (Part 2)

I think that Anthropologie dress is adorable, but there is no way I could wear a dress that short. My thighs won’t allow it.

I’m still upset that the coatigan was sold out when I tried to order it!

I came up with a few places I could wear that Anthro dress. So, I just measured my favorite mini dress, and it is exactly 33”. Since I’m 5’ 1.5”, that length hits on the knees . I’m waiting for Deb’s report to decide if I order the regular not petite.

The dress showed up in two new colors overnight. A really cute red print and Hawaiian blue print.

@deb922 the red print was there before, at least when I looked a couple days ago. The new blue print is pretty also, but only in two sizes. I think I would need a medium, but it is unclear from the reviews whether it is true to size. Normally I wear petite, but from the comments on its length, I think I would go with standard for that dress. Unfortunately none of the colors have medium.

@soozievt I ordered a couple of Eliza J dresses but don’t remember if any were from your links. We don’t have Dilliards here and they charge a hefty return fee so trying to order from places that offer free returns or have a local store that I can return to. I still haven’t finished going through all your links. I will update when I’ve tried on some dresses and whether I keep any.

That dress is selling out fast! Very limited sizes. I decided to order the Hawaiian blue in the standard length. I really like the color. I’ll decide which length I like best.

Mediums seem to be the most popular size.

@deb922 the only dress available in M seems to be the dark blue one you originally bought but unfortunately it isn’t available until May 23, which is the day I will be needing to wear it. :disappointed: please let us know how they fit when yours arrive!

@4kids4us If you like Eliza J, most of the links I gave you for that brand were on Amazon…free shipping!

@CottonTales I have the coatigan! I got it for dirt cheap too. I happened to go into my local Loft during the flurry of posting about it here, and it was cheaper in the store than online. IIRC I paid around $20 for it. I wore it a few times that winter, but maybe once this past winter only b/c I was not really going anywhere during the pandemic. I got compliments when I did wear it.

Since you liked the Anthropologie dress I linked to, here is a dress of a similar style:

@showmom858 - your whole outfit sounds cute for that boat ride! I wear hats all the time now (to protect from sun) -they can really make the outfit and I bet the hat works great with the leather slides. I’m going out next weekend too and am inordinately excited just to get dressed up!

@deb922 - I’m doing myfitnesspal to get the scale to move and it seems to be working (only a few days tho). My friend has done Noom for a few months (a little pricey) but she says the tracking of all foods and weight has been key to her losing 10 lbs she’s worked for years to get rid of (in 3 months!). I’m trying to get the same effect for free via myfitnesspal. lol

I love the lighter blue color. I feel like I’m too tall to wear that dress, but I really like that pattern. There is an Anthropologie at the mall near me. If I get there soon maybe I will check it out in person.

I’m going to Anthropologie today with my D who is trying on wedding dresses. She got a last minute appointment at a wedding dress pop up. I’m going to take a quick look and see what dresses they have in the store. It will be my first time in a clothing store in over a year.

I caved. I ordered the blue Hawaiian print in XS regular. Of course I have second doubts, if that pattern won’t be too large for me. I mean the anthropology dress

Is the night sky navy or black? I actually tried the dress (size M reg) on at Anthrologie near me, but they only had the yellow color I don’t like. I’m 5’ 8” and it wasn’t “too” short on me. It’s about as short as I’d wear, but it was pretty cute. I’m bummed you have to pay for shipping from them. I’m on the edge about ordering. If they had the Hawaiian blue I might go for it.
One person who said it was super short was 6’3” - I bet most things are short on her.

Free shipping over $50. You might have to join their perks but it’s free.

I was sent a 20% off coupon for my birthday. And I apparently had to forgot to click buy this morning on the Hawaiian blue. So I bought both and canceled the first dress I purchased and got the 20% off. Easy to cancel on the app.

I think the night sky is navy. I might be surprised but it looks navy on the app
