Drew University

Anybody Know anything about Drew? It seemed like a good school in the NYC area? Anybody know about the job prospects? Ibanking? Consulting? How does Drew compare to Rutgers, in terms of academics? Employment Recruiting? Internships Overall Life?

Have you visited Drew?
Nice campus with big old trees in very suburban Madison, NJ.
Hike to midtown direct train into NYC.
MUCH smaller than Rutgers in campus and student population.
I understand they have a very good history dept and study abroad.
We live down the road and have attended performances at their Shakespeare festival. Our son also has attended a summer chamber music workshop several years.
Sorry, but I don't know specifics on their academics.

Drew felt very similar to Clark academically. It's like the books say, if you know you want political science, this is your heaven, any department in the social sciences here is strong. I'd say if you want to go into political science, Drew brings a lot more to the table than Rutgers, that includes semesters at the U.N, bringing the last 6 prsidents to campus, and the many history seminars around the globe that they host.

It was a nice campus, the setting in the forest really does a lot for the campus especially in the fall.

About 1/4 of the students go directly to grad school and about 30 companies come on campus for recruitment, though they are not your only outlet, by far. They had a well staffed career center with an impressive record from what I remember. One of my friends found out he had a passion for journalism, and even though the campus had nothing in that area, he ended working for MSNBC for a semester, and now is at CNN. Also, there are countless Drew alums on Wall Street now, springing from their popular semester internship in NYC.

The school seemed like a typical liberal arts school with many pros. The professors out do themselves, after sitting in a few classes, I understood why the many rankings place Drew's professors in top 10 for giving the best undergraduate classroom experience.

Overall, great school for social sciences, also good for psychology and a strong theater program, other than that it's an average LAC.

No I havent been able to visit the campus, I live in Arizona. I wan't to study Eccon/Business and it sounded like they have a decet program. I would like to go on to work on wall street and that perticular program sounded interestings as well. So Any more advice about the campus, the profs, financial aid, the internships and job opportunites....whatever would be appreciated??
