I'm a current BS/MD student at Villanova! For those who were accepted into any of the programs affiliated with Drexel, I would like to congratulate you on your acceptance! If you got into any of the programs, especially Villanova's program, post below!!! Feel free to ask me questioners pertaining to the program! I will try my best to respond to you in a prompt manner!

We got this form to sign, and I am wondering…
Does it happen that after fulfilling all the requirements for 3 years and you still don’t get the medical school admission?

Yes your seat is revoked if you apply out. To my knowledge, I don’t know anyone who did not get in after fulfilling the requirements. I’m guessing they have that wording in place in their contract just in case you do something stupid eg. plagarism or committing a felony.

Hi, do you know what was the least accepted SAT score for the Villanova combined med program this year or in the previous years? [Obviously interview, EC’s, minorities, etc are confounding variables, that apart, any idea the least SAT needed to get in for an interview and or the program?].

@tamtiger- I can tell you my stats, as I got into the program this year: 2240 SAT (1480 with M+CR), 103.4% GPA, Many humanitarian ECs and president/VP/treasurer of 4-5, submitted fairly strong and unique medical essay. If you get the interview, you are qualified for the position. However, the interview is basically all they look at to see if you’re going to get the position. Find a way to connect with the interviewer and you should be set.

Guys, someone just PM’ed me asking me to bring up this idea- do you want me to make a Facebook group for all of us who are definitely going to Drexel Med in 2016? This would be for the 3+4 BS/MD students who got accepted into the program this year. I think it’d be nice to get to know each other (since Villanova and Rosemont are right next to each other, and Lehigh is not too far either) and form a tight bond even before entering med school. What do you guys think?

@MrInformed
I was accepted into the program via Drexel, Villanova, and Lehigh but I’m leaning towards Drexel because i got a full scholarship.
How do you find the work load to be since the undergraduate portion is condensed into 3 years?

Great idea making the FB group. My recommendation is to call it “Drexel University College of Medicine BS/MD Class of 2020” Since there is a 2019 group

The work load is not bad. For villanova, if you are a biology major, you take the same amount of classes as every other bio major here in Villanova. With the new MCAT coming out, you won’t have to add any extra classes not covered by the core. You need to take 2 social sciences as part of the core and the new MCAT recommends that you take psychology and sociology, which is covered by taking the core!

Okay! I’m making the official group tonight, with all necessary security precautions in place. Any 3+4 BS/MD student from Drexel, Villanova, Lehigh, and Rosemont who is seriously considering or is officially going to Drexel Med starting in the fall of 2016 to 2020 is welcome to join! Please PM me for the link :)

If anyone is going is going to Roxemont/Drexel, please PM me! I’d love to get to know you, and possibly dorm together (if you’re a female). Also, it’d just be nice to know if anyone is going to Rosemont’s 3+4…as of now I haven’t met anyone doing so (PS, @sjshah, this is all your fault. SHOULD HAVE GONE TO ROSEMONT WITH ME )

Sorry for the double post guys, but everyone should now be able to access the 3+4 Facebook group without any problem. I had to change the security setting. @MrInformed thanks for the tip!

Hey sjshah I am strongly considering Villanova Drexel if you want to work out dorming arrangements or just simply get to know each other. I tried to PM you but it will not let me since I just joined the site.
