@StayClassy13- I will pm you my phone number. text me!

Hey people, I’m currently in my third year at Drexel/Drexel. If you guys have any questions, ask.

How are the classes? (difficult, easy, medium)
Are there any perks of the program?
Do you think you will apply out or stay at drexel?

Difficulty of classes is a very subjective matter. I felt like the difficulty level decreased greatly after freshman year. During my third year, I was free after 12 on mondays, wednesdays, and fridays (I watched so many movies this years lol). But you know, this also depends on how chill you want to be. I pretty much took the minimum number of classes. I averaged around 15 credits per quarter, when a lot of my classmates took 18 or even 20 because they liked to learn.

Hmm, perks? Well there is the BS/MD dinner every quarter, so you get three free dinners every year. You also get 250 pages of printing at the honors lounge. But I think the greatest perk is the support you get from people within the program. The upper years will give you advice and back exams that help you do well in the class (trust me, these back exams are amazing). Your classmates will also help each other out.

You can see from the first paragraph how chill I was while at Drexel. I did minimum effort required. As a result of being this lazy, I do not have the EC’s needed to apply out, nor do I wish to do so. Please note that not everyone in the program is like me. There are people who still do volunteering, research, and other meaningful activities. I’ve just gotten really complacent over the years and could not bring myself to do anything.

Hope that helps. I will be happy to answer any other questions you may have. I finished a quarter early and am currently on break until August (when med school starts), so I have a lot of free time.

Accepted to Muhlenberg/Drexel! @fianchetto, what you said makes me wish I had applied to Drexel. Have you heard good things about Rosemont’s program? And how would you compare DUCOM to Temple Med?

I really don’t know about the other Drexel programs.

The only thing I know about Temple is that it’s a great med school, but its location is not so good.
Drexel Med is the lowest ranked med school in the country (according to US News) lol. I will not sugarcoat anything about Drexel. However, of all the Drexel Med students I’ve talked to, that seems to be the last thing on their mind. If you look at Drexel’s match list, we do just as well as the other med schools. My conclusion is that if you work hard, you will get to where you want, regardless of which med school you attend.

DUCOM is actually ranked #87 so it’s pretty good

Also accepted to Kean/Drexel. Just got the letter in the mail!

Congrats! Rosemont still your first choice?

I think so! These acceptances are making me a little confused though. It may be that the 8 year program will cost me less–based on how much aid the undergrad is offering me–than the 7 year program. Thoughts?

I also got into an 8 yr program that will cost me about 50k less overall. I don’t think that the money is as important in this case though. I would pick the undergrad that you like better and would be happier in, despite only being there 3 yrs

My D also got into the Kean/Drexel program-got letter in mail today from DUCOM.

@Boarderkid Congrats on your acceptances! How did you hear about Muhlenberg by mail or email?

Sigh. I’m already conflicted! @newdoc, expect a Facebook message from me very soon about this! haha :)

@Arborvitae, congratulations to your daughter! Is she going there? I heard about Muhlenberg through a phone call and by mail today.

accepted into Nova, Drexel & Rosemont to Drexel Med! l

@musicandmed! Where do you think you’re going? PS. Come to Rosemont :D

@boarderkid lol i’m leaning more towards drexel b/c it’s a bigger campus feel and i love the location. it’s close to home also. i really liked Rosemont too (the advisor, Johnathan, was so helpful also) but I don’t think that’s going to work out haha sorry :(

@musicandmed, I’m disappointed! Just kidding. I’m sure you’ll love Drexel all the same Do you know anyone else considering Rosemont?

hey @boarderkid you didn’t send a specific link to me lol
i’m not sure. but i know that they have only like 3 seats at Rosemont for the program!

Sending you it now! Sorry about that :)

@boarderkid lol i swear this link hates me. i can’t view the group.
