Drexel EA 2024

yes I did ^^ not quite sure what that means

I think it’s one of those things where they are trying to get as many people to apply to programs that have low application rates. One of my friends who goes to Drexel said they’re changing the way they market these programs to applicants.

@MD2024 it’s not mine either, it’s actually one of my low safties. I’m just on here because I’d like to get info and stuff before deciding even though I’ve only gotten into safeties so far.

Yes. @philippians I got that too. @MD2024 well I am an international student so I really have no safety schools. Any school that gives me decent financial aid is my first choice. So Drexel’s not my first choice but not my safety either.

anyone else apply for BS in fashion design?

My daughter got an email yesterday about a research program for the summer of 2020. She didn’t get a chance to share the email with me so I’m not sure exactly what it said but it’s probably the same or very similar to what you received. She also received the honors program email last week.

Thanks for responses. I feel like Drexel is a safety or at least not a first choice for many people. I’m not really sure why, I know it’s a good school it just doesn’t wow me

Drexel decisions aren’t coming out this week they’re out next week because I called them to up to find out when they were releasing them and the lady said the week of 16th

Thanks for the info!

@nananan08 thanks it’s the last school we need to hear from !!!

@BrielleNJ24 I think it’s because its so close to other great schools. UPenn is less than a 5 minute walk away and Temple is a pretty well known and large public school. Drexel also hasn’t done great at marketing to non-STEM majors which could be a major reason since the University of the Arts is also in Philly and has more draw for Arts majors.

The price of admission has a lot to do with it. While the co-op program is great for most and their financial package is pretty good, the bottom line cost makes it not a good value school. It’s a good solid school but not at the price. For University in that price range, one would expect it to be more selective and a higher retention rate.

Drexel is a hard school to figure out. Reading reviews on CC or Reddit it’s a mixed bag. We’ve visited twice and my S20 has applied (business) and I suspect S21 (film) will as well. We like what we see. The co-op program is appealing. The honors college seemed pretty solid. The campus has improved.

The cost is high for their ranking. I think we’re seeing the education cost dynamic change. If you’re a T20 school you can charge whatever you want. Anything lower will have to offer discounts via aid or merit or both. It would be nice if they just lowered prices but that won’t happen. Have to keep up appearances that your school is exclusive.

Yeah Drexel isn’t exactly my “safety” either because I’m an international student. But as far as I know their fashion design program is top 6th or 7th in the world, so I guess it’s my first choice

Their instagram shows that they are mailing out letters today. Fingers crossed everyone!!

Do you know if it’s snail mail? Will it be on the portal?

I looked at a thread from last year and it sounds like it is both. However, someone said they don’t send you an email you just kind of have to hope you check the portal at the right time I guess lol

You get to be selected for a summer research program after the Freshman year (paid).

Hey, they also sent an email to apply for the global scholar program. Did anyone else get it?
The do mail out the decisions.
Last year one of my friend got an email. They send out their decision in email but you have to check your portal for further information. Think they will do the same this year too.
