I want to do a co-op no matter where I go, school with a good name, academics that wont kill me, preferably urban environment, and a school that respects its students as people and not numbers because I do better in real life applications than in the classroom. Drexel, GATech and VATech are my top three choices, what are my chances?

PS: If you think of any other schools that might be good for me please let me know.

Any chance you could review for and retake the SAT, or the ACT? All of these schools will want to see good Math & Critical Reading scores.

Absolutely planning on retaking the SAT (I wasn’t happy with my score at all) and planning on taking the ACT as well. Math was my highest score on the SAT so I wasn’t really planning on focusing on that in my prep but maybe I should…

Aim to do really well on Math. Do lots of practice tests. Your GPA is below 3.5 so you kind of have to prove yourself, although being in a competitive HS probably gives you sone leeway. (I’m guessing you go to VMA?)

With your grades and SAT score, I can’t see you getting into Georgia Tech.

Virginia Tech might be within reach, especially if you improve your SAT significantly, or take the ACT and do really well.

You have a pretty good shot at Drexel.

You might want to look into the University of Cincinnati, because it is very well known for its excellent co-op programs. Plus, it is easier to get into than the three you listed. I live in Ohio, and Cincinnati is the most interesting and enjoyable city in this state.

I am also out of state, do you think this will make a difference?

I have come to terms with the fact that GATech is a serious reach and I will probably not get in.

VT has become my top choice and I am going to visit in a few weeks. I am trying to work on my essays and get that stuff in order to raise my chances.

My guidance counselor told me Drexel is a safety school for me but I still love it and would be thrilled to go there.

Thank you for the input!

IS you have a chance to get in to Pitt.
