I just got back from my interview. It went well, I guess. The guy had a prepared sheet of questions with blank spaces that he filled out as I answered.

Do you know if he just gives that sheet to the admissions committee (the committee will only know what he wrote down) or does he himself go and tell them about the interview (basically everything little thing I said)?

I also had an interview at Drexel, and my interviewer told me that he will write a report that is sent to the admissions committee for review. I guess the form you saw with blanks for answers is what he will send in. I didn't get the impression that the interviewer will have anymore contact with the admissions committee unless he/she sits on it. He also told me that the rest of the process is pretty objective, but I don't know how accurate that is, considering things like an interview go into it.

I thought the Drexel interview was pretty informal and laid back. My interview happened to be the vice dean, but she was really nice. Drexel COM was pretty nice, I would love to go there for med school.

Ha! Objective? Yeah right. This interview is going to make the process anything BUT objective lol. But, grandcentral, are you sure that the interviewer will NOT meet with the committee to discuss the interview and give his own personal opinion? I heard that someone will be elected to "vouch" for your application during the process, kind of like a debate.

And btw, is the interview REALLY that important? How many were chosen for an interview and how many make it through?

And thecoolchica08, what kind of questions did your interviewer ask you? My person was a doctor in Neuroscience and he didn't even ask me why I wanted to become a doctor. He asked my weird questions like why do you consider your best friend a best friend. Is this a bad thing?

I was just wondering how prestigious this program is? I have 6 other interviews and feel as though I have a shot at getting into one and I don't want to waste the costs of a trip up to Drexel and Lehigh. Any input would be good. Also, the other six are my preferences. What is the admit rate after interviews for this program?

Ya, same here, I got accepted into Drexel, but I haven’t got anything about the program yet. Do you know when they were supposed to send out interviews?

It is too early. You will hear about interviews in about two to four weeks. Interviews will be some time in February. If you get an interview you will find out around April 1.

Got accepted into Drexel couple of months back and today got an email about my file being forwarded to the medical school “Your file has been forwarded to the Medical School for review” and also “If you are selected for an interview, it will be held on the College of Medicine’s campus in mid-February”

First part says that it is moving to the next step but the second part means, well not really…

^^
Your application is making progress. You have passed the first screening, and you are good enough for you application to be sent to the College of Medicine. If your test scores ,GPA etc. were not good enough, your application would not be sent any further and you would not have gotten the email. The College of Medicine will soon pick those that will get interviews.

I got an email saying that my file was forwarded and that i need to pay $150 for it. I was nervous about getting in so i called the admissions office and found out that last year out of 2350 apps, 75 apps were accepted. Then i called the med school and found that 400 apps were forwarded to the med school this year. So does that mean everyone has basically a 1 in 4 chance now and will interviews be hard to get/based only on stats?
Thanks

^^
I do not have any inside information, but I would think that all applications sent to the Med School have strong numbers. They will probably look at the rest of the stuff like ECs, essays and recommendations as well as the numbers to pick those that get interviewed. Would you happen to know how many they interviewed last year?

No sorry i have no idea about that. But I hope i get an interview! All i heard was that about half are interviewed and then half of those are accepted? but i dont know if thats true

Hi i also got that email that forwarded my application…but i was wondering if they require midyear reports for our first semester senior grades. Does anyone know if we send these?? and do other programs require them as well? Thank you!

I am also in the same status, waiting for communication from Drexel mc for interview. Do you guys have any idea when will be notified about interview?

Hey guys, I just got the interview invitation for Lehigh/Drexel a couple minutes ago, scheduled for Feb 20., and got Villanova like a week ago, so I guess this is the time frame in which they’re handing them out. I know that Villanova invited for Feb. 4th interview date, so most interviews would probably be coming out before then. Good luck to everybody!
