Drexel like universities

1)Good reputation for engineering ( my major is an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering)
2)Great scholarships to international students
3)Very good city - Philly , great city , amazing companies for internships , cheaper than cities like Boston. (I am not a hard core party person , but i do like to go to a city where there are good parties) , good connections
4)Prepare me for the life ahead of me
5)Less selective
6)I want the prestige factor to be there.

Thank you

Less selective/prestige factor aren’t exactly compatible.

Case Western all the way for those requirements. Good Luck!

University of Pittsburgh

Northeastern is the school most like Drexel in the continental US, just its in Boston. Living there, I don’t think that you would be spending too much more than in any other city to have fun. Its the rent and stuff that’s expensive.

Other schools like Drexel in the ways you mentioned include: Pitt (Cheap clean small city), U of Cincy (Also cheap, clean, and small), NYU Poly (It has the NYU name, but not the NYU selectivity).

Kittering University in Flint Michigan is on the US New list for Best Mech Eng school, has a huge internship program like Drexel and Northeastern, and is less selective.

Rowan University show up on the 10 ten list as well. It is in Glassboro NJ, outside Philadelphia. Its a new-ish engineering school without a lot of the old-think that effects a lot of state engineering schools. Its like Olin or rose Hulman, but possible to get into.

Clarkson, (Potdam NY) and Missouri S&T both show up on “top” lists of GE hires and lifetime pay.

Also consider Memorial University of Newfoundland, a great engineering school particularly in naval Arch, and robotics/auvx

^^^It’s Kettering University. Unfortunately it’s in a lousy city to live in.

My guidance counselor says that Northeastern should be a top 60 school. I think it’s pretty underrated and is one of my top choices for next year.
