Anyone know what the admission notification date is for EA (besides mid-December)? Does merit aid come out the same time? Is Honors College notification at the same time?
Mid-December.
If you click the enrichment and scholarship opportunities tab the decision on the honors college may already be there. My D found out today. The decision on the regular application has not been made yet.
My daughter was denied acceptance to the honors college. It’s a little disappointing because she had received an email after she sent in her application that she was identified as an excellent candidate and was invited to apply to the honors college. But the day it was due she was sick as a dog and the application was not her best work. Hopefully Drexel will accept her.
@saules Thanks for the info. I just checked the enrichment tab and there is no notification there but line that said DS’s honors app was submitted/pending is no longer there. Hopefully it is currently in review.
Good luck to your daughter!
@saules thanks for the tip! I looked and unfortunately am also not going to be offered Honors. Honestly I thought it was a long shot, although I have very good stats one of the questions made me realize I was probably not a strong honors candidate. I don’t remember exactly what the question was, something about what research you have done, or along those lines. I received the same email you did inviting me to apply.
Does everyone receive the apply to honors email. D received the email a few weeks after submitting her app but 5 days before the honors app was due and she didn’t have time to complete it. Honors college wasn’t even on her radar because she/we were pretty confident that she didn’t qualify.
@baxter That’s a good sign! What were your stats as it seems as Drexel is doing something different with their Honors this year. Last year, there was no application and this year, a much more dedicated process.
Maybe taking the extra steps to fill out that honors application which requires an additional essay is a way that Drexel can see who’s truly interested in attending their college if admitted. I imagine not too many students would write an optional additional essay if Drexel was considered a safety school. Maybe it helps in the selection process to Drexel - just a thought.
My daughter had a 3.8 and a 31 on the ACT.
D submitted her application late October, received an email invitation to Honors Program couple of days later. She did respond to the invitation, she spent couple of days filling out the program’s application. On the portal, the “application is under review” sentence has been removed but no decision has been listed.
I suspect your decision will come today or tomorrow.
@Westnovasalle I hope you are right! My son has very good stats-- a 32 ACT, 800 SATIIs (physics and math 2) and a 3.9. He also has research and great ECs.
Those are excellent stats. I think they will accept him to the honors college.
Has anyone received a decision yet?
No @woah16
Nope and for some reason the decision to the honors college is no longer there. Not sure what happened.
It must have been a glitch that it was there and they realized it and took it down.
I applied EA to Drexel… At 3:30 pm today both my honors app status and Drexel app status said they were under review. Now my honors app status is gone with no mention of acceptance or rejection.
weird - wonder if they are reevaluating things. I’m expecting a decision soon as it is now the middle of December.
Any decisions yet? Also does anyone know the date they released decisions in prior years?
