Can someone tell me more about this program? Someone who's actually gone there. Is it good? Do you stay at Drexel university? What kinds of things are you allowed to research?
Im interested in nueroscience. Would they have a slot for nueroscience research there?

Note that it says on the website you should be an area high-schooler…so from around Drexel somewhere? Maybe you guys should email the director about what exactly that means.

^I overlooked that aspect b/c of my hyperness of the idea of attending an internship, if i got in.
In any case, I emailed the coordinator and will report what she says ASAP on this thread. So other people do not have to worry about doing so.

I applied to this program last year and even though I’m from NC, I would have had transportation and housing in Philly since all of my family lives there. I had all As and some good ECs but they turned me down. I really think it was because of location so I don’t think they allow anyone other than local area students to attend, but everyone should apply just in case.

Thank you for your interest in our High School Summer Research Internship Program.

Unfortunately, Drexel University does not provide housing for any participants in our summer programs. In order to be considered, you must live within a commutable distance to all of our campuses. Im not sure where in New Jersey you reside, but there have been students who commute from South Jersey. If you live further than South Jersey and you are able to secure housing in the Philadelphia area, we suggest that they apply. On the application you must list the address and contact information of whom you are planning to stay with.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

This is exactly what the advisor wrote to me. Sucks for me. I can’t apply.
