I am currently im a first year frosh at drexel. i wish to attend NYU (stern or arts & science) because of their more prestigious business program. i plan to major finance and management. Currently at Drexel i have a 3.42 which is low but i hope to raise it to at least a 3.65 by next quarter. In high school I performed very poorly with a gpa of 3.03 and 620(m) and 490(v). I am also asian. If I have low chance be honest I rather just do my best here and not waste my time trying to transfer. If it is a real reason to transfer let me know, I just feel pressure from my family to go to a more known school. Thanks(sorry for not posting this in that other thread i just realized it existed)

so you wanna get out of drexel too?

im applying to upenn and im debating my chances as well

honestly, youre scores are a bit low (verbal) for nyu... especailly ur verbal and most colleges dont accept SAT scores taken in college... does nyu require sat scores?

since drexel is on the quarter system, they probably wont receive ur second quarter grades in time either...so its gonna be based on first quarter most likely

you could try taking SAT II like math IIC, and the english sat ii whatever its called

unless you have awesome rec's and a ****load of EC's...id say your chances are somewhat low...but not impossible... theres things you can do to help ur chances

have you considered looking at other business schools

yea, i think im pretty much screwed on the transfer idea i dont have any ec and my gpa is way too low. i figured if i transfer to another business school im just creating a hassle unless i am going to a better school. i dont know if its worht a shot i rather just focus in on my work

You could look into UNC-Chapel Hill. I've heard the avg. transfer GPA for their b-school is around 3.5, but I really don't know the stats.

Your stats are low for NYU...NYU says they want to see 3.7 GPA...also coming from your college, I think NYU would like to see at least 3.60...also your SAT scores will hurt your chances...Stern should be your high reach and Arts & Sciences should also be your high reach.

why don't you look at some other schools like Fordham? or Pace?
