Drexel University- CLass of 2018 (accepted/Rejected)

So has nobody else heard for RD yet? Just a small spurt of decisions that one day?

Just checked S’s portal on a whim and he has been accepted to Westphal for Film and Media. He was originally deferred from EA.

Accepted for Physics!!
With $18,500 AJ Drexel Scholarship!!

I’m so happy and so surprised,
low test scores.

1770 SAT, 26 ACT
3.6 GPA unweighted
8/83 class rank
TONS of EC’s
Great Recs
Slaved over my essay - wrote about how I came about my love for mathematics through personal stories of elementary school, visiting the Kennedy Space Center and how I see it now

Edit: I was deferred from EA

Accepted (RD engineering) but no accelerated program. Does this affect co-ops or major at all?

D got accepted yesterday. Accelerated BS JD. $20K AJDrexel scholarship.

Got accepted yesterday for LeBow with a 1500 SAT and 3.6 GPA. Got $8,500. I really want to go but its so expensive

Accepted for Biological Sciences with one co-op! And I got $22K for the AJ Drexel Scholarship  Too bad it’s still freaking expensive to go even with the scholarship. Congrats to everyone who got accepted!

Son was accepted with 17,500 AJ drexel award, but it is not enough for him to be able to attend. GPA 3.7 SAT 2150

I might’ve said this once before, but APPEAL YOUR FINANCIAL AID.

Even if you’re not receiving any need-based financial aid, if you make it clear to Drexel that you are highly interested in attending but cannot do so with your current award/grant/scholarship, they will re-consider and possibly offer you more. It worked for me and I’d hate to see people not come here because they didn’t know about this process. At the bottom of this page is more info about it:

http://www.drexel.edu/undergrad/about/accepted/

Accepted to Biological Sciences (4 year, 1 co-op) with a $17,500 AJ Drexel Award. Drexel is my number one and I can’t attend if I can’t afford it. Still waiting to hear back about my financial aid, but if it isn’t enough I will definitely appeal and do all I can to attend.

Accepted for communications program

@OnWithTheRiot same w/ my kid last year, received $18.5K AJ Drexel Scholarship for Mech Engineering the Cost was still far more than other great schools. So Drexel was out of the running. We see how it works out my next kid still waiting on the numbers.

D got in two weeks ago with $24K AJ Drexel Scholarship for Bio Sci. Just submiited FAFSA but not expecting much more (trying to avoid loans). Even with merit scholarship cost is still greater than attending other schools that she has gotten accepted (WSU, Baylor, UCSB, and Univ. of Minn - a really good deal). Likes Drexel but will probably wait until Grad school to attend unless more $$$.

Hey guys, I was going to post a long-reply in here but I think it was actually worth it’s own thread.

Glad to see more acceptances! Good luck to everyone, prospective and accepted!

OMG, I GOT IN! This was totally surprising, my HS years haven’t been great, but I’ve definitely worked as hard as I possibly could. My stats will show you that you don’t need crazy high SAT’s or anything to get in, just a good work ethic and proof that you’re willing to work hard.
Got in for Music Industry – Technology Concentration
SAT: 1460
ACT:22
GPA:3.02/4 – My freshman year it was 1.7(yikes) Taking 2 AP’s, have all A’s and B’s
EC’s: Music production, albums, hospital volunteering, etc.
Still haven’t received any financial information.
I believe my essay also aided me in getting in, wrote an excellent one.

@Lnx1996 congrats! I’m waiting to hear back still… I applied for music industry too!

Accepted with a $18000 scholarship.

SAT: 2190 (800CR/770M/620W)

x

Are acceptances posted on students’ portals throughout the day, or are they posting all of them at once? I see a lot of people on Twitter saying they got accepted today.

I’m waiting to hear from music industry too :stuck_out_tongue: Got deferred from EA1. Last school I’m waiting to hear from too so the suspense is killing me
