Drexel University Class of 2020 Decisions

When I click the financial aid link on my portal, it brings me just to the page with extra scholarships I can apply for. Where do I find the ones I’ve received?

The AJ Scholarship is completely merit based, my son was awarded one and we didn’t file any financial information

I received $12,150 through the A.J. Drexel Scholarship, congrats to everyone who got accepted and good luck to those who got deferred

As far as the scholarship, it says $14,670.00 A. J. Drexel Scholarship, however it still says that my cost of attendance is $71K under the Financial Aid tab.

Can someone please clarify this for me? Also, congrats to all accepted students!

@ruben1 The 71K is everybody’s cost of attendance. Subtract the scholarship to determine what you will actually be expected to pay.

@ruben1 It means the total cost of attendance is $71, now subtract $14,670 from it, that will be the amount left over that you have to pay. So, you would have to come up with another $57K ish. Cost of attendance includes fees, personal expenses, transportation, etc. in addition to tuition and room and board.

It says I was given around $18,000 in the AJ scholarship. Is that per year?

And what do the loans mean? I am so confused

@brilynch the unsub/sub loans are what you will most likely receive from FAFSA, if you file, which usually maxes out at about 5.5k, which is what I’m assuming is on your financial aid profile. The “parent loan” is what you have leftover to pay, but it doesn’t necessarily need to be paid through a loan. It’s just what you have left to pay after all your aid.

Hello,
I’m an international student. Drexel offered me grants and AJ scholarship with total sum is nearly 41000 USD. However, the remaining cost is still unaffordable for my family ( 30000 USD/year).
So anyone has some suggestions for raising funds or any scholarships available to apply. My family’s contribution is 15000 USD/year maximum.
Thanks !
