My son currently has Drexel in his sights as his #1 choice but has RIT as a strong contender. I'm curious about the rigor of the Comp Sci program and also the reputation for Drexel's COOP program vs RITs.

Any biased or unbiased opinions welcome :).

I’m a Drexel alum and just got back from taking my son for a campus visit. But my daughter seriously considered RIT last spring. So I guess I’m both biased and unbiased.

Back in my day, the Drexel co-op office actively matched students and employers. From my visit last Saturday, the process has changed to more of a job-seeker website where all of the co-op jobs are visible and any student can apply to any position related to their field of study.

My perception from RIT was that the student had to put in some significant effort to find and secure their co-op job. But since my daughter chose not to attend RIT, I have no knowledge of the exact process. You’ll get better feedback from the RIT forum.

Personally, I can attest to Drexel’s co-op program and it was one of the top reasons I landed my first job out of school. My employer actively recruits Drexel grads so the reputation is still good.
