Has anyone heard of drinking and partying at Boston Univ Warren Towers - A by freshman? Is there any security? Does Boston Police do surprise raids on these bldgs? Is anyone from BU housing internally responsibe for each floor? What are the consequences if caught with alcohol? What is the legal age at Mass for drinking?

If you are a student, all of the information regarding alcohol and BU was thoroughly covered at orientation, again at convocation and yet again at your floor meeting. If you are a parent, yes there is drinking and partying by freshman at Warren Towers and every other college form in the country. As a matter of fact, freshman are notoriously the worst abusersof alcohol! There is security at Warren and they take drinking very seriously. I have not heard of Boston Police doing raids, but they also take under age drinking very seriously. Yes, there are Residence Assistants on each floor that are responsible for the floor. There is a range of consequences for getting caught with alcohol, depending on the circumstances. The legal age in MA is 21. And it is also illegal for an underage person to be in possession of unopened alcohol, a stricter law than in many states. There was an article about this in BU Today this week, [Alcohol Enforcement Resumes This Weekend | BU Today | Boston University](http://www.bu.edu/today/2012/alcohol-enforcement-resumes-this-weekend/). BTW, my daughter was in West as a freshman and she said there was a lot of alcohol consumption by freshman the first semester, but things seemed to settle down by second semester.
