I have drank a little before but haven't gotten drunk. How many beers does it usually take to get drunk? Are you totally out of it when you are drunk? I mean, can people take your stuff and you not even know it? Any other things to know?

How many beers does it usually take to get drunk?

it depends on your weight. its going to take less alcohol for a petite girl to get drunk and more for a heavier bulky guy…right? It also just depends on the person I think.

Everyone gets drunk differently. You might be a stupid drunk (fall over). You might be a violent/mean drunk (want to beat up people/cause trouble). You might be a happy/jumpy drunk, or lovey-dovey, or a slutty drunk. You may turn into the person who dances on tables, the person who talks to everyone, the person who huddles in the corner crying, or the person who acts completely lucid and not-drunk and desires political debate/stimulating intellectual conversation. Some people have terrible hangovers, some people have no hangovers, some people have memory loss and forget everything they did while drunk, others remember everything. The only way to know for sure is to get drunk yourself (preferably around friends/people you can trust). You’ll learn, and then you can be smart about it afterwards. Same goes for “how many beers does it take to get drunk.” For an inexperienced drinker/petite person, more than 2 beers can likely make you tipsy/on the edge of drunk. For an experienced drinker/larger person, it might take anywhere from 5-8 beers to make them drunk. Essentially from my experience watching other people and their drunkenness, there are no bounds to how dumb you can be while drinking. But some people are more sensible than others while drunk so as I said, be smart about it.

It depends on how hard drinker you are.

it usually takes a bottle of absinthe or two if you want a slight buzz.

^ hahahhaha, that’s horrible. you’re going to put the OP in the hospital.

everyone is different when it comes to drinking.

Yep everyone is different, for me, I can get very drunk and will get sick but will remember everything the next day no matter what (so far). Usually takes me about 3 beers to get a good buzz and maybe 6-7 to be pretty drunk. 10-12 beers, depends how long ive been drinking of course, but that is my danger zone. Get drunk a few times and know your limits and where you can drink to have fun. 3 beers for me is great because then I can have a great time without doing somthing ridiculously stupid.

Like others have said, it depends on your weight, gender, tolerance, etc. You can build up your tolerance but if you are an inexperienced drinker and are fairly small, 3-4 beers could get you drunk.

I know guys that can drink 14-15 beers and barely feel a buzz. I also know some girls that can get trashed off of two beers. It’s all relative. Personally, it takes me 8-9 to get a nice buzz going. I’d say I’m “drunk” at anywhere from 10-12. It also depends on how quickly you drink. If you are just casually drinking, hell you could go all night and maybe never get “drunk”. On the other hand, if you are chugging/shotgunning/funneling etc., you will get drunk a lot quicker and on a lot fewer beers.

Don’t test your limits at first. I’d say ease your way into it and drink lightly the first few nights. You don’t want to be that guy/girl who vomits in the living room(trust me, it happens) because they didn’t know their limits.

It depends on a lot of things. If you’re drinking on an empty stomach and are a pretty light guy then 4 or 5 beers in a short period of time could get you going pretty well. If you’ve got a better tolerance, are drinking while you’re eating, and you spread it out over a couple hours you may be able to throw back 10 or 12 and, while not being sober by any stretch of the imagination, not be hammered. Some people have really high or really low tolerances too. Also, NEVER DRINK ALCOHOL ON COLD MEDICINE. Ahem.

As far as how gone it gets you, that depends on how much you drink. If you drink more than your limit then you could pass out and then yeah, people could steal from you or do whatever you want. After a few beers your decision making abilities will still generally be intact though.

One thing to watch out for. Many Asian people do not have the enzyme or whatever to break down alcohol, and it makes their face flush red and makes them sick. So if that happens it isn’t because you’re a lightweight, it’s just how you’re made.

if your azn, you will glow. typically asian’s can’t metabolize alcohol.

Be smart about it!
It is different for everyone. Just remember you are initially in control of yourself…until you have gone too far!
Also remember, you will see these people the next day when you are sober!!!

Being drunk is more of a spectrum than one specific point. You may start to feel a little drunk after just a few drinks if you’re a lightweight, but you still won’t be significantly drunk; if you keep on going, you’ll get to the point where you’re fully drunk and then sometime after that you’ll be hammered/trashed.

Also most people get a “party buzz.” Basically if you’re at a party or around some other largish grouping of people that are drinking the second you take a drink you’re going to “feel it.” Of course it’s all in your head though.

One time I was hosting a party and as a joke we gave a guy O’Douls (sp?,) which is a non-alcoholic beer that we had for some reason I can’t remember. He had about 6 of them and was acting pretty drunk. Hooray placebo effect I guess.

Does your college make you take the online College Alc thing? I thought all colleges did. Somewhere in lesson 1 or 2, they have charts for guys and girls telling you how many beers/glasses of wine/shots of harder stuff you can take based on your weight before you get: buzzed, drunk, puking, comatose, dead…etc. They also estimate the blood alcohol level you’ll have per number of drinks.

Like for me… apparently I am supposed to get pretty darn drunk after two beers…haha

Ibleedblue, so it’ll take less alcohol for asians to get drunk? or do they just turn red easy?

I’m only 4’9 and weigh 85 pounds(I’m 17), and even though I’ve never been drunk before either, everyone tells me that after 2 beers, I’m gone. And I’ve heard that after a shot, I’m gone too, but I’m not sure I believe that.

Close enough?

cause it’d be more fun…

youll find out your limits soon enough

Chuy- Have you ever watched Freaks & Geeks? There was an episode where The main character’s threw a party, and her little brother switched the keg with one filled with non-alcoholic beer, but everyone still got “drunk” anyway.

But like everyone else has said, it depends on the person, your weight, height, etc. You really just have to test it out and find your limit…

Speaking of, does anyone not get hangovers? I mean, I’ve gotten–and I really hope this doesn’t sound as bad as I think it might–pretty drunk, to the point where I’m still drunk hours after I’ve woken up the next day, but I’ve never gotten headaches or thrown up. I’m guessing this is pretty unusual? (And while I’m not petite, I’m not ginormous either. 5’7, avg weight, female).

cRants- He can’t just like drinking?
