Drivers Permit Test

I'm planning to take the DMV test to get my permit within the next week. I've already read the DMV manual completely (the one specifically for my state) but when it comes to the sample tests (also on the DMV site) I can't pass. I always get a few more wrong than 5 (which is the total amount that you can get wrong before you fail the test).

I need 20 out of 25 to pass. I'm estimating that I can get around 18 right but that's still not passing, any help?

I've heard that the questions are random and that if you get the easy questions then you can basically get 25/25 on the test. But I don't want to take that kind of chance and I want to get the 20 correct questions ASAP.

How should I go about studying for the permit? I've already read it like 5 times and it seems like most of the questions are from chapters 3 or 4 which are really long.

Should I study it again and again? Or is there like a cheat sheet or something I can use???

Ok, first of all, where do you live? If you live in CA, the questions are right out of the test questions that they give you at your drivers ed class. I’m serious, they are word for word. There is no need to worry, just study the questions that they gave you and you will do fine!

It’s super easy… If you read the booklet, you’ll do fine!

GL

Just keep studying is all I can say. Wartsandall mentioned California’s questions being the same as in the book, it was the same for me in Arizona, and I think it’s like that everywhere. You might want to pay extra attention to distance questions, like how close you can park to a fire hydrant, how far behind a car you should be in certain conditions etc. I only got about 2 of those, but I had friends get a lot of those and they ended up failing the first time since they didn’t study that part too well =</p>

A lot of it is just common sense, no real tricks or anything. Just go with what seems to make the most sense.

Speaking of which, I need to actually drive. I’ve only done it twice since I got my permit in June, lol.

^O no! lol
I know what you mean, I had to take that permit test twice! I got my second permit in July, but my first one in the July before that. I look forward to(hopefully) get my license in January haha
