Driving..good place to stop?

NJ to Indiana. Is Pittsburgh a good place to stop? Looks like it is on way (airport hotel).

I am from Indiana, I have not stayed in Pittsburgh, but if you can make it over the Ohio line Beechwood, OH has a lot of affordable hotels. It’s a pretty nice area, might be an option for you.

The area in Beachwood with all the hotels is on Chagrin Blvd at I 271. Plenty of good places to eat and shop on Chagrin or within a few miles. Just note that the local town borders converge here, so some hotels will be listed under Orange or Woodmere. Approx 5.5 hours driving time to Bloomington. Or 6 depending on traffic and number of stops. If your route takes you this far north along 271 then this area is very convenient. I’m wondering if you head south from Pittsburgh however.

Try Columbus… Easton Town Center or Polaris Pkwy exits. Cleveland (Beachwood) is too far north coming from NJ. Even Pittsburgh seems a bit too far north, depending on what highway you are taking from NJ. Columbus looks to be about midway. Safe travels!

How many days are you attempting to do the drive in? If you’re aiming for 3, somewhere in PA/Eastern OH, somewhere in western IN or Indy, then a short drive down to Btown for an early move-in morning could be a good option

If you are moving your kid into a dorm – definitely get there as early as possible in the morning, if you want to get a parking space close to the dorm, get one of the dorm’s bins to haul stuff in, avoid waiting in long lines at elevators – etc.
