I have never gotten a ticket even though I drive like an old lady on speed

hahahahahahahaha
Oh, this is wonderful. You all are so not making me want to drive. Like I'm not going to. From what I've driven so far (cough me? driving? no...), I drive fast, but really safe. haha. I scare everyone in the car with me, but I use turn signals early and ease over lanes - I just go really fast and tend to slow down before the turn, and speed up through the turn. I don't know - no matter what the situation is, I am determined to get out without any scratches, so I'll be close to hitting something and crank the wheel over and speed - somehow, it works reeeeaaalllyyy well. But I also drive either a. Pontiac Grand Am (good acc.) b. my actual car, '96 honda civic hatchback (small, easy manuev.,acc.) so I'm good. It's sad, everyone tells me I'm actually the safest driver they know, yet I actually don't have my license...oops.
Now, my brother's '87 nissan 300zx turbo...that's another story...
As for tickets, I have a friend that went 20 over at night in a residential area and got her license suspended. My boyfriend also went about 25 over on the highway one night going home and got suspended license.
My great uncle had a summer house here (he lives in Germany) and got 5 speeding tickets, at the 5th he got his license suspended. He got mad and sold his house & jeep. haha - he always talked in German to the cops and said he thought 50km and not miles, and all the cops didn't know the conversion factor. he definitely had all of his tickets for 40-45 miles over...this is also the man that drives mercedez on the audobon and has missed the same turn 4 times - flipping three cars (all new merc. and totalling them) down the hill/mountain. he also goes from 2nd gear to 4th or 5th...and never uses the break, just cranks from 5th to 3rd. crazy, rich man.

I got a ticket for 55 in a 25 a few months after I got my license. I'd just learned to drive stick, and I guess I was having a little too much fun with the manual transmission. It didn't go on my insurance (thank you Mayor's Court), but it scared me into becoming a better driver.

wow...umm living in south florida, half the people on the road are idiots. that means you have to gradually ease into lanes or you are VERY likely to get into a car crash. i think i see atleast 2 car crashes on teh way to and from school. then again i live by like 3 of the most dangerous intersections...

so moral of the story - it's not ME who's stupid but the people around me which forces me into driving safely. safely means going abt 10 miles over the speed limit on normal roads and about 20ish over on the highway (unless the car in front of me is driving faster -- if they can do it, why can't i?). and no sudden stops -- the drivers are too stupid to realize that they need to brake as well. don't have my license yet but i've been eligible since june...just haven't gotten around to it.

boston has the worst drivers i've seen yet.

i've been to boston. the drivers ARE pretty bad. but then again, boston's like impossible to navigate for a nonnative. i think miami would give you a run for your money. we live a 1/2 hr away and we KNOW to stay away unless there is no other choice. miami drivers have a technique of their own...

The only time I've driven in Ft Lauderdale, an old lady came within inches of crashing into me after making a left turn on red. Yes, a left on red.

I'm generally a pretty good driver, and I've never gotten a ticket. Whenver I'm driving people for the first time though, I always try to scare the **** out of them by going 50 in a 30 and swerving hard into the left lane and back. Never hit anything either, unless you count a wall I backed into while I was high. I pretty much know where the speed traps are in my town. I want to try to make a radar scrambler sometime when I have a lot of free time.

Averaging 92 mph on my way to Lake Tahoe. Doing 52 in a 15. 124 mph at 4:15 AM on Highway 101 in my dad's Audi (not doing that again!).

wow, most of the time I dont go that extreme except for this one spot on a highway close to my home where it is like 12 lanes and completely straight and level and it never has traffic

Hey. I say this with all the warning in my heart, do not f around while driving. At my school there was this accident and someone I knew died. The other three in the car were seriously hurt. If you value your life, do not play around. Ok enough preaching...just be careful.

what the *** are you talking about?!? never heard anything as stupid as this... to point out the fact that your post required no thought whatsover, i've taken my time to list out your mental ineptitude just because others must be aware

-reckless driving is a "minor" thing?
-wait, when was druken driving mention? deviation? but hold on, we can find a common similarity: dangerous driving
-lol, this last comment is such a funny kicker, just cracks me up. i guess you care about 'worldly issues'(which i'm sure you partake an active role in) more than this "minor" thing which threatens your world more directly*

Sorry to offend you. But i never said that reckless driving isn't a problem. but I'm not going to flip out about it, becaue I know that when I get behind the wheel, I'm taking a risk. I'm aware of everything that comes along with driving. I can only control MYSELF.

And before you jump to call me stupid, perhaps you should check on your own facts. "cops can't give out tickets unless you are going 20mph over the limit read this on a ticket onceanything under and all you get is a warning". that's COMPLETELY wrong. you can get a ticket for going 5 miles over the speed limit. that's the whole point of a SPEED LIMIT. if you can't get penalized for going 10 mph over the limit, why have the limit in the first place?
