Driving is kind of hard

Stick a big “Student Driver” sign in the back window when you are practicing and other drivers will give you wide berth.

It’s not a hard thing to do, IMO, I just suck at it (I’m not very decisive, let’s put it that way) and I suck at lane changes which is a problem for sure. I have had my permit for a few months.

I’m 17 and I’ve had my license for about 4 months.

Driving gets A LOT easier with practice. I don’t really even think about driving when I drive, I just “do” it.

I’d consider myself one of the better drivers on the road. Like top 10%. I drive safely, efficiently (in terms of using fuel efficiently and keeping traffic moving), and I’m aware of other drivers and try to predict what they are going to do.

Also, you’ll eventually want to drive fast. Every teenager wants to. I end up going like 120 in a 65 when nobody is on the road. >.>

^ No, you just think you’re a good driver. Driving is easy to learn but takes a lifetime to master.

Meh, doesn’t really matter how safe you think you can drive when it only takes one person and a second of inattentiveness to cause an accident.

I love driving! It really isn’t that hard. I think I have good driving genes, though. Neither of my parents have ever been in an accident that was their fault and my brother, who is 22, has never been in an accident. My dad has driven a couple million miles in his lifetime, too. No, I’m not exaggerating that number.

I think Maryland has the easiest driving test in the country. All it is is a 3 point turn, a stop sign, and parallel parking. There is no driving on an actual road. Its pretty much just a parking test.

And lol to the person who put Michigan has crazy drivers. The drivers seemed pretty tame to me when I went there. It’s the midwest. By it’s very nature, it can’t have crazy drivers. You want crazy drivers? Go to LA or DC. I’ve driven in LA once and frequently drive in and around DC. Gotta love the Beltway.

Wrong. In Florida, there is NO parallel parking test. :]

I have driven in every state and DC (except Hawaii and Alaska). I have driven in LA (lived there for a bit), NYC, and DC. Trust me, nothing compares to Michigan during construction season (which is really 11 months out of the year).

EDIT: I have also never driven in Texas or Florida. Had to rethink my list lol.

I’m a freshman in college and am terrified of driving. I got to a point with an instructor where I was pretty decent, but I haven’t driven for months, and I’ve developed this anxiety. There are just so many things to pay attention to.

I’m a pretty decent driver, but during the night I can’t drive. The other car’s headlight always bug and blind me.

I love driving, and have always been pretty good at it. I got my license the week before Christmas this past year (2009), and I got a ticket last weekend for accidentally (it truly was an accident) running a red light. $240 + 4-hour BDI class to avoid having the points assessed.

I can honestly say that as good of a driver I thought I was, getting the ticket was probably the best thing that happened to me. I’m now more conscious than ever when driving, and very careful (even more than I was before – which I thought was top-notch) with everything I do.

I think everybody should get a ticket early on in their driving “career” (without any accidents or injuries, of course) because it has made a huge improvement in my awareness. It’s like an early wakeup call, because before I got the ticket, I felt invincible: “Oh please, I’ll never get a ticket. I’m the best driver!”

Well obviously nobody’s ever caused an accident.

driving is really easy. it came naturally to me.

haha yah right! …
