rofl...
know where all the thingies are in your car. turn signal is pretty obvious... flashers, headlights, all the basics.
and DEFINITELY make your head turns obvious. i got marked down a ton for "not looking" although i did... but not with exaggerated head turns.
COMPLETE STOPS are a must.
and also, NEVER EVER EVER enter a crosswalk when there's someone in it. even if they've already passed you, and are 3 lanes away from you, and have one step left to go. just wait. even if you're trying to turn right on red.
i swear, if i had decided not to wait (i had 2 turns left to get back to the DMV) it woulda been an auto fail.
another auto fail is hitting the curb (or, well, anything) so make sure to take a car you're used to, so you know its dimensions.
and just be calm, breathe, and don't be nervous. if it's awful, it will end quickly. if it's good, it will end with a license! :)

It took me 3 years to get my license. When I moved to another city I got it the first try. So go to a dmv in an area known for niceness.
