Does anyone else hate driving or is that just me? I did my first road lesson today, and before that my mom and I only drove on like local roadways, barely going 30. Today my instructor was stressing me out so badly and made me go on a 45 and would keep telling me to accelerate, even though I told him I usually don't even go 30.

I also said I only drove on like little roads, and he got annoyed when we when in a rotary and I didn't know how to do a three point turn.

When we got back to the school with 10 minutes left, he had me go on a track thing and drive around while he was shouting directions at me and I was literally about to freak out.

I hope I don't have him again because I have 11 more lessons unfortunately :/

Despise it. I got pulled over for drunk driving the first time I ever drove on the road. (I wasn’t drunk.)
I’ve had my learner’s permit for two years and haven’t really driven in about six months. I took driver’s ed because it’s required, but it didn’t seem to help much. I got a C, so I’m glad it wasn’t actually for school credit.
I took the test once, a year ago, and failed it miserably (partially because I’m a bad driver and partially because I was given bad advice).

I had a really bad experience with Driver’s Ed too. The instructor I drove with was really rude. He always asked me questions about driving that he knew I didn’t know the answer to and he always mentioned how easy it is to learn how to drive and it made me feel a little dumb at times. It was pretty embarassing too because I had to drive with another student from my grade and he did a lot better than me. The instructor yelled a lot but he had a strong country accent so I couldn’t understand him at times…Long story short, it was a bad experience and overall I would’ve appreciated it if he was more patient and not so rude.

I got over it after awhile but I’m not eager to drive again anytime soon. Besides, we can’t all be good at everything :p

Yeah I’m glad the two kids observing me were good sports and didnt complain or anything, but the girl that drove before we switched seemed like a pro and the instructor was casually talking to her. For me, he was just like “you have to give it gas”, “you have to stay in the middle of the lane” like yes, I know. Please tell me how to do it instead of grabbing the wheel.

Do you drive a nice car? I think that might be part of it…I like driving so much because I love my car. I wouldn’t like it that much if I had something boring like a Prius.

I’ve had my license for about a year. At first, it was exhilarating. Free car car, free gas: freedom. But, with great power comes great responsibility. Every morning, before school, I drive my brother to his. By the time I’m in school at eight, I’ve already driven a solid 70 minutes. And I do it again after school. And I run basically all my parents errands, since they work at home and barely leave. I’ve put about 250000 miles on my car this year.
Eh.
