Drop a class on the last semester?

I dropped my speech class with W because I figured out, I don't want to go CSU, and it is just waste of my time. Now, do I have to update my UC application?( I checked the website and the update section is open) or send an email to each campus?
Someone told me just wait till they ask me to send my transcript.
How bad is it to have a W on the last semester? it is gonna be my first W in my transcript.

Yes, you have to update, you need your transcripts and reported schedule to match. It depends on the campus, some require snail mail, some an email will suffice. You’ll have to check with each campus and see what they require (you can usually find that information in the applicant FAQ or admissions website. One “W” wont be that bad, when I was taking to an admissions officer at UCSD he said at the transfer level they just cross them out and forget about them. Unless, it’s the same class a few times or something of that nature.

I’m thinking about dropping a class as well…I can still drop it without taking the W. It’s a 3 unit “speed reading” class that’s only CSU transferable. Will I get in trouble with any of the UCs or CSUs if I do this? It also means I won’t be a full time student since I’ll only be enrolled in 9 units.

From my understanding, being part-time or full-time doesn’t matter during the transfer process. They only care about whether you finished your IGETC requirements and major preps and GPA etc…
