Drop a class without a W grade?

If I drop one of my class from session c before July 30th, Will I get a W in my transcript?

Does anyone know when is the deadline to drop without a “W” for session c?

you can still drop the class but you will get a W. deadline is this friday.

W aint that bad. if you are doing horribly in a class and have no chance of passing, try getting that W rather an F because an F will drag down your GPA throughout your undergraduate career.

Deadlines are posted here: [Schedule | Berkeley Summer Sessions](Schedule | Berkeley Summer Sessions)

“A notation of “Withdrew via petition, Summer, 2010” will appear on your UC Berkeley transcript. This notation cannot be removed. The notation is not a “W” grade and will not affect your overall GPA.”

if you have taken or are currently taking another course this summer, you won’t get a W if you drop by July 30th. you’ll be able to drop the course, leaving no trace, but you won’t get a refund.

Hi speedviper02:
So if I drop the class before this Friday, I will not get a W and not even a “Withdrew via petition, Summer, 2010”, if I am taking another course too? Is this information reliable? Thank you :)

yes. this is from the link someone posted above

“Withdrawal means you are dropping all classes in all sessions after your earliest session begins. If you wish to drop some but not all of your classes, see the section on Dropping Classes.”

Yeah, I mean drop one class, not withdraw the whole courses.

So am I still able to drop the class after July 30?

like i said above, you will get a W. the only exception is if you drop all your classes for the summer.

its actually best for you to go to 120 sproul hall. the office of the registrar is located there. you can also talk to the folks at the summer programs office although i dont know where they at. they can answer any specific questions you may have authoritatively.

but yes, tomorrow is the deadline to drop or withdraw classes. you will not get a refund at all so just beware

https://summer-app.berkeley.edu/forms/student_record_change/</a>
that is the link of the form you will have to print out and bring with you if you decide to drop your classes.

anyways, which class are you dropping? im just curious O_O

if you drop the one class by the deadline it disappears. if you drop it after the deadline, you get a W. If you drop all summer classes, you get a statement on your transcript that you withdrew voluntarily.

soc 3 ac
Haven’t read any the required reading yet cuz I devote most of my time in my another course econ history. And just realize I may not able to pass this class after seeing the paper #2 requirement

So if I drop my session C class tomorrow, I won’t get the W? Are you sure? (I have Session D classes as well that I’m keeping)

No you won’t get W as long as you don’t withdraw all the summer courses. I went to the office of registrar today and get this information.

In fact, I know people who wanted to drop their sole session B course but didn’t want the withdrawal notation, so they added a session D course, then dropped the original. Viola, the original class was erased as if they never had registered for it.
