Drop a summer class before transfer to UCSD

Hi. I am currently taking a UC transferable math course at a CC, and after receiving my test score today, I think I might fail the class. I have already complete all the TAG requirements and fulfill all the terms on my contract.

My question is, what if I end up getting a D in this class? Will it affect my admission to UCSD? Today is the last day to withdraw, so I need to decide now. Thanks!!

Call admissions if they’re still open, asap.

If you can’t get a hold of them I’d try to pull out a grade in the class. Having your admission revoked would be far worse than risking a bad grade, just work your ass off for that C.

That said, I do not think it will affect your admission if you were on TAG. The contract only address the Spring term, so I don’t think they’re allowed to create a contingency for Summer on your acceptance, unless it was specifically noted.

Thank you for your input, Anacondrea. Unfortunately for me, I was unable to contact the admission office since it closes at 2pm… I think I will just drop the class. I don’t think it will mater since I am on TAG.

Anyone has any thought before I proceed?

I heard from an admission officer that they don’t care what courses we take and what grades we end up getting in summer.

WOW! Thank You for your info! That’s such a relief.

Remember to send them another transcript with your summer grades (if any) though.
