Drop Engineering vs . Pure Science

I have intentions for MD/PhD OR M.D. alone and will like to get some few thoughts on

I'm in engineering schoool right now (bME MAajor most likely)
I am thinnking about switching to the College and major in Biochemistry...

anythoughts..why or why not

as long as you met the pre-med requirements, you're fine...you might have an "easier" time with biochemistry (obviously the classes will be somewhat easier than biomE, but still tough) to fit in the other classes, but if you think you can make the requirements, you should be fine with bmE...bmE can lead to more opportunities i would think, because you can not only become a doctor, but a researcher in so many areas (artificial organs, cancer therapies, ect...) i think the overall options are higher with bmE, but its going to be more work i would presume

You CAN get a M.D while still majoring Engineering and even though its rare some schools also have M.D/Ph.D programs in conjunction with Engineering, as opposed to just life sciences.

If you are going to Medical School I feel that the BME degree is far more versatile and will open up more options than just a mere pure science degree.

get the one that will give you higher grades, if admissions to med schools is part of your concern
