I was just at orientation and the advisors said that you can't change your engineering section once you've chosen one. Can I completely drop engr 100 and add engr 101? I don't want to try it just in case I drop it and can't get it back. The reason I'm asking is because I want professor holloway and I'm not sure if he'll teach in the winter and an upperclassman told me that the female professor of the blimp engr 100 class was a ***** and that she gives out bad grades.

You’ve clearly thought this one over…

You can do whatever you want with regard to dropping or adding classes. Spots for engin 100-700 fill up quickly though, so if you think that you might want to take it, I would recommend not dropping it. Section 700 is a great class (I had it last year), especially if you’re interested in aerospace engineering. If you’re not, then it may not be for you, since it’s probably a little more work than the other 100 classes. Although it’s great hands-on experience either way.

And by the “female” professor, I assume you’re referring to Professor Olsen, who was, incidentally, the nicest and most caring professor/teacher I’ve ever had, and went way above the call of duty in a number of situations. She was not a hard grader either, and when she felt that the class had not done as well as she had anticipated on a certain assignment, she allowed for redos and revisions to help you improve your grade. The only way you could get a bad grade is if you are genuinely unmotivated and do not try.

I think you need to find a new “contact” for information in the future.
