I am thinking of dropping from Calculus BC to AB. I am currently in my senior year and am also taking AP Stats. I have applied and gotten in the honors business program at U of I, where I wish to go.
Would dropping from Calc BC hurt my chances of staying in the honors program or not? I have an A- in Calc BC but I literally spend my whole weekends catching up with the material and stress myself to an unhealthy level. This class has sucked out all the fun of my senior year so far.
I would check with the school before dropping. I don’t think they will have a problem with it, but BC is always a good class to take if you’re going into business.
You’ve made it this far already, I wouldn’t do it if I were you. But does that mean you’re going to re-take AB again? I’m not familiar with the curriculum in your school, but most schools require you take to take AB first before you get into BC and most of the BC materials are build-up from AB. If your school doesn’t require you to take AB first before you get into BC, I wouldn’t be surprised that you’re struggling with some of the materials.
Is our school an 'AB OR BC ’ school? In that case, there’s no worry to have. Colleges don’t care as long as you’re staying calculus.
If your school is an ‘AB first, BC second’ school, then what would you do exactly?
