Drop in gpa?

I’ve had a 4.0 w/uw both my freshman and sophomore year. This semester in Junior year, I think I’m going to end with 2 Bs. Im taking 2 AP classes so id have a 3.6 uw and 4.0 w. I know this looks bad on college applications but im sure i can get my grades up second semester. my sat is also a pretty low 1350… do i still have a good chance to get into schools like UCSB or UCI? im not aiming for anything too high like berkeley but im not sure if i still have a chance in this range of schools either

From the information given it appears you took no weighted classes Freshman or Sophomore. I’m not understanding how your GPA dropped that much unless you took only 3 classes in two years… As to the 1350 SAT that isn’t really that low and you should be able to get into UCSB. I think myself and others would need more information such as what classes you have and/or will be taking to give you a better answer.

SORRY FOR BEING VAGUE !!!

UC’s only use 10-11th grades for their GPA calculation. You have increased your HS course rigor Junior year with some AP classes. Your GPA/grades are fine since those AP courses will be weighted. Are you limited to # of AP classes you can take each year and/or they are only offered to Juniors and Seniors? Your lack of HS course rigor may impact your chances more than a few B’s.

You want to strive for a UC GPA capped weighted of 4.0+ for these schools.
