Hello CC'ers,

I just called the admission to ask if I have to notify the admission within 72 hours for even a slight drop of my final grades (I'm an IB Diploma candidate), and they told me yes (but I wasn't sure if the admission officer fully understood what I was asking).

Was this true to any of you who had experienced a drop in grades in the final report? Did you have to notify the Dean of Undergrad within 72 hours? Or did you just not bother telling them?

Sorry if I sound so obsessed with this...

Thanks..

Nevermind, inquiry solved: I heard from a different admission officer that drop of a couple of points (considering Fianl IB point total) wouldn’t require one to report it to the admissions at all.

as long as you get C’s or better you should be fine. aim for B’s or better to be on safe side.

so drop in 2 or 3 points from the total predicted IB score is okay…?
I’m a full IB student too by the way

I’m sure it’s fine. I’m an IB Diploma Candidate and I don’t evne know what my predicted score is and neither does Duke. I’m sure at least two of my teachers predicted higher than what I’ll get and I’m sure it happens a lot. By drop in grades, they mean your actual grades in each class (A,B,C, etc).

I’ve read somewhere (other threads) that the IB/AP scores are not considered in admissions… only final school grades are.
IB/AP scores are considered only for students who want credits at college and skip classes…?
Is this information accurate?

Eek, my grades dropped too. All mine are As and Bs though. Gym might drop down to a C though which would be pathetic…
