Drop out from a CSU to go to CC and then Transfer?

Okay, so currently I’m a freshman at a CSU. I just finished my first semester of college with a 3.8 GPA. My first semester of college was fun. However, I am not happy at the CSU I am attending. I feel like I should be attending a university like UC Berkeley, UCLA, or elite privates. I am very well on my way to take rigorous courses like Liner Algebra, Physics, and Biology classes. Moreover, I have outstanding extracurricular activities, if that matters.

Anyways, I was wondering, Is it to late to drop out of my CSU and attend my local community college and then transfer to UCLA or UC Berkeley? I just want to know if doing that wii ruin my chances of getting accepted into a UC.

What kept you out of these schools as a freshman?

It’s definitely not too late and the CC route is always the money saver… Nonetheless, you’d still have to work your butt off at CC and probably take honors courses and join UCLA’s TAP program (if available)
