Droped Classes

I have several classes on my transcript that I dropped within the first week and I wanted to know if having a drop is bad when applying to UC's. I also want to know when applying, do I have to put down the drops on my application.

uc wouldn't know of any drop if you don't have a W on your transcript, so of course it wouldn't affect your chance

even if one did get a W, it's perfectly okay since my friends who had Ws are now attending berkeley

"I have several classes on my transcript that I dropped within the first week"

They would not be on your transcript if you dropped them the first week..

i though it would be the same, but i recently got my transcrips and there is DR on them; NOT Withdraws but Drops. drop means you droped the class with in the frist two weeks.

What school do you go to?

A ccc up north. Butte college

it shouldn't show on the official transcript

Well this is from your schools website.

"W (Withdrawal)
The "W" symbol is used to denote withdrawal from a course through the last day of the eighth week of instruction or before 50 percent of an irregular term course has passed. Students who do not withdraw prior to the deadline must be awarded a grade other than W. No notation is made on the academic record of a student who withdraws during the first four weeks of instruction of a semester, or during the first 25 percent of an irregular term course. The W grade is not used in calculating grade point average. It is used in determining progress probation and dismissal. Under certain extenuating circumstances, a petitioning process is available to provide for withdrawal with a W after the deadline.

It specifically says that no notation will be made in the time frame you described. You must be looking at an unofficial transcript.

WOW... you are amazing... thank you. My Counselor was the one that told me that it would show up on my transcript. Counselors are soooooo stupid. The Counselors here are notoriously inept. Thanks again (I owe you)
