I posted this in the Cal Poly Pomona forum, but I believe that the UC system is different when dealing with the given circumstances.

I dropped out of AP Environmental Science since I performed poorly(C-) 1st semester and I was interested in an ROP program at our school. I've completed all of my A-G requirements and I haven't gotten any Ds or Fs throughout high school. When, and how, should I notify UCR of a change in my schedule? Thanks for any input folks!

If the courses you entered in your application will differ in ANY way from your final transcript (because you dropped a course or added a course or whatever), you still need to notify the institution. Scroll down to “If there are changes in your academic record”:
[After you apply | UC Admissions](http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/after-you-apply/index.html)

Or you can call the admission office and ask.

as long as its not english or math, they probably wont care. during my senior year of high school i opted to take english at the local community college, i was all accepted at ucsc until they got my transcript and told me they couldnt accept my cc credits, which voided any ap english for the entire year… needless to say at orientation they rescinded my admission. so yes be upfront about EVERYTHING, but if its not english or math you probably wont have any issues.

I kind of had the same question (i changed schools and so the classes i’m taking now are different from the ones I reported on my application) so I sent them an email asking them what to do. They told me I should send a letter to the UC Application center explaining the situation, so I included a copy of my transcript and a letter explaining. If you send it to the UC App center, they send it to all the UC schools you applied to. If you satisfied your A-G, it shouldn’t matter if you drop an AP, unless they admitted you because you’re taking AP. I didn’t take any AP classes, and I got in, so it might not matter. Notify them as soon as possible.
