Dropped Blackberry in water - any advice?

Got rice???

I dropped my Pearl in a tub and it was done, forever…

I tried that with my iPod Touch after I put it through the laundry. Didn’t work, sadly. :(

My phone went through the washing machine and never worked again, even after I tried everything… ):

I heard that putting a wet phone on top of one of those voltage boxes is supposed to work, although it didn’t for me.

don’t drop your godd*** blackberry in the godd*** water.

how did you get it to work ?

It’s too late for this now, but if you ever drop your phone in water I heard you’re supposed to put it in rice because it soaks up the water more than just letting it air dry. It worked for my friend’s blackberry.

I did that to mine and certain keys wouldn’t work after that. I had to get a new phone.

Obviously, you are screwed at this point, but for future reference: immediately remove the battery. If no electric current passes through a wet circuit, it won’t short out. Some phones have an automatic shut off if it encounters water, so DO NOT turn the wet phone back on until it is 100%dry. Put your sad, wet phone in a bowl of uncooked rice. Leave it for a day or two. After the phone is dry, put the battery back in and pray to the gods. I’ve had two phones come back from the dead by doing this. Sometimes I had some condensation in my screen from trapped h2o but nothing too bad and the phone worked. I took a phone apart and rinsed it with alcohol once too, since alcohol evaporated significantly more quickly than water. That worked too.

My brother left his phone in his pocket and put his clothes in the wash. We found it and left it out to dry… and then forgot about it. (My father found an old phone and asked him to use it for a while) After what I believe was 2 months, we discovered the phone again and turned it on…

IT WORKED! My brother gave the old phone back, of course.

I wouldn’t suggest you do that though.

Rice is useful in removing moisture
