Dropped course

Wellllllll....

I was accepted EA and just finished first semester (thank god). One of my five AP's for this year, however, was a half-year course (AP Amer. Gov.) and is now over. I still have the other four to deal with but I decided to drop the Post World War II course that I had signed up to take second semester. So now my schedule is: AP Lit, AP Bio, AP Spanish, AP Stats, and Marketing I. I'm slightly worried that my EA schools will look down upon this. The class is an "honors" weight but I'd need an A+ in it to maintain my precarious advantage over the third-ranked person in my class (just trust me). I also may have a slight case of senioritis ; )....but hey, four APs are enough to deal with and Gov was certainly a handful. Do you think there would be any consequences? If so, do you advise calling Gtown Admissions just to let them know?

i asked my counselor a similar question (with the exception that i'm not EA accepted, just RD), and she told me that she thought it would be a bad idea to drop a class because it might "take away my edge"

haha... come to think of it, i'm also in a precarious position as 3rd in the class, and also have a "touch" coughmassiveinfluenzacough of senioritis.

anyway, since you've already gotten in, i wouldn't worry about taking away the edge... but i think you still have to call the admissions office to let them know (just my opinion though...)
