Dropped out, what should I tell them?

I got in with full FA scholarship to a good northeastern boarding school freshman year, didnt make the hottest grades, aka mostly B's and C's and a D. So I left after that year, and went back to a good private school in South Carolina and I have a 4.0 now and take the best classes, am head of clubs, sports, etc. I also recetnley got a 33 on the ACT.

I am applying to schools like Vanderbilt and UVA. Will they possibly think that becuase I left boarding school I cannot do well on my own? That I quit and gave up on myself? And might they not give me a scholarship becuase I gave up my award?

The admissions committee looks for the progress you have made over the course of four years of high school. Looks like your ACT score and the final GPA is good. Don’t say anything unless asked.

So I shouldnt say anything of it? If they were to ask I have thought about telling them how i thought it was a mistake and i learned from it or that i jsut didnt like it?

bump 10 char any good advice?

bump 10 char

165 looks and only one response?

bump 10 chaqr

So, you went to Private (Boarding) School A for a year, didn’t do great, and then transferred to Private School B where you’re doing great.

I assume you have to submit your transcript from School A, so it sort of speaks for itself. I don’t think there’s any need to call attention to it.

Congratulations on your academic progress, I’m sure you’ll do great in getting into college.
