Dropped two courses for Ws

Hey guys,

I'm a freshmen at my local community college looking to transfer to a UC or an out of state school for undergrad. I got sick in my very first quarter and I had to drop two classes, Calculus and Intro to Java. I wanted to ask how these two Ws will effect my transferring opportunities later. I definitely plan on taking the courses again, but I just couldn't catch up so I decided to drop rather than receive the bad grade. What kind of effect will these Ws have?

Thanks in advance!

Since they are Ws, they shouldn’t do anything. It should be like you never took the class. These courses, of course, will not factor into GPA or credit hours. The only time you are in danger is if you withdrew past the withdraw date and got a WF which is equivalent to failing.

You should be fine. Just take the classes again if you want and knock them out of the park next time.
