Dropping a class 2nd semester?

Title says it all except this class is a core class...it's AP Calculus AB for me. I'm applying Early Action to a few schools and I just wanna know whether or not I'll be rescinded if I do so. I have no intention of majoring in engineering or anything of the sort. I just took it cause I felt like I had to. I'm really just bad at this class and have no interest in it. I know some friends who dropped AP Spanish at my school 2nd semester but that's Spanish...as opposed to math in my case. I already have 3 years of math and such. I understand I'm taking the easy way out but I just really hate math with a passion.

You should have four years of math.

Well, it’s not a matter of “should.” In fact, I looked up the recommended acdemic units for my schools and it’s like “2 years of math” or “3 years of math.” Look, I understand what I’m doing but my teacher doesn’t make math the least bit interesting or fun or even tolerable.

I just dropped AP Physics. It’s still the 1st semester in my school, how is it 2nd semester for you?

My semester doesn’t end until like late January…lol. You must have a different school schedule for the year.

I think the OP is planning to drop it, second semester. In my opinion, I think it depends on the rest of your schedule. How rigorous is it? And what schools are you applying to EA?

I’m taking 5 AP classes at the moment, including the calc class I’m intending to drop. I also have a teacher assistant period and a journalism elective class and finally one free period. It’s pretty rigorous…I took 8 classes last year: 6 AP, Spanish 4, and 1 more weighted class. Not sure how much of a dive that is. I’m applying to Georgetown early, as well as University of Chicago, Notre Dame, Villanova, Boston College, Northeastern, and Case Western.

I also plan on majoring in poli science and history…if that helps.

Bump!!! I need more opinions on this.
