Dropping a class, having a W on transcript

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about dropping an elective. I'm a sophomore and my major is Sociology. I thought I wanted to apply into the Cinema Studies major here, but I ended up disliking the first class and this second class really validated my uninterested in pursuing this major. My GPA is solid, but I've put this class to the back of the burner because I'm focusing on my major courses. I've already bombed two quizzes and I'm likely to fail my midterm. I'd rather focus on my other classes because I just really don't care for this class at all. I plan on going to graduate school for either Sociology or Higher Education Administration/Counseling, so will a "W" look bad (assuming I wont drop after this)? Any feedback would be wonderful. Thank you so much.

I have 80 zillion Ws on my transcript. Nobody will care.

I withdrew from two classes in my freshman year simply from being an idiot. Still managed a solid GPA in the end and got into graduate Duke BME program, which is where I’m going now. Now, I wouldn’t make a habit of withdrawn classes and would definitely try to keep them to a minimum, but I don’t think it’s a huge deal to have one, maybe two.
