Dropping a class...how bad does it look?

<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>Quick question. How would top schools (the ivies and the like) look at a student who drops their AP Chem class. I mean, I have an A for this semester but I am tired of the class as it is poorly taught and the tests are unscaled old AP exams. I would much rather just take our textbook and self-study the class. Now, after much arguing with our principal, I have been allowed to drop it. However, if I explain that I decided to "independent study" the class, would it look bad?</p>

<p>I would personally stick it out. I don’t think it would look horrible–but I definitely think it would look better if you could finish up the class. </p>

<p>It’s just my personal opinion though. The decision’s yours.</p>
