Dropping a class junior year?

I am taking AP Spanish Lit this year, and though I used to be really good at Spanish, I've been struggling in this class. Mid-semester (now), I have a B. Um, I am one of those students who never gets lower than an A on a report card.

The thing is, the reading assignments are the most important part of the class and I have been cutting corners on those or even not doing them altogether. I know this is bad, but I have a busy schedule especially with sports every day after school and debate. For debate, I miss about 2 days for a tournament, so this year I've missed about 4 days of school for that. Each time I miss a day, I find it harder to catch up in Spanish Lit.

Should I drop the class now (while I can because my grade is low enough) and wait until next semester to take a semester class of AP Econ? Or should I slough it through and hope for the best..? My goal schools are HYPS, and I was wondering if it would look bad if I only had 5 classes first semester junior year (I have A's/A+'s in all my other classes), 3 of which are AP's (4 second semester if I took econ). I took 4 AP's last year, so would it look like I started slacking off junior year? A pro of dropping the class would also be that my GPA would suddenly rise up .3. Hmmmm... HELP!

stick w/ spanish and work harder/spend more time in spanish since its harder

bumppppppp

A "B" won't kill you. Especially in AP Spanish Lit.

What other calsses are you taking? You should only drop a class if it is affecting your other academics. In fact you should move down to second honors or high honors. Dont kill your self over a language. You have to balance your life and I strongly suggest speaking with your advisor or dean and they would recomend similar things. I know this girl at york who took remedial spanish but had all other strong corses and went to NYU.

Wow...why do so many people whine about getting a B?

If you drop it, it'll look even worse than if you kept going and got a B.
