Dropping a class mid-semester? What will ivies think?

I'm in my Sophomore year and I've chosen a class this year called Art & Design to fulfil a school requirement. I'm currently set to get a C in this, and I freaking hate Art.

I currently have the option to drop the class mid-semester , but it will indicate that I have "withdrawn" from the course on my transcripts. So it will go:
"Term One: C, Term Two: C, Term Three: Withdrawn" I'm guessing

Do ivies and other schools like Georgetown and Northwestern look negatively on applicants who drop a course? How do they calculate GPA? Do they take Artsy subjects into account? Or only core subjects?

My prospective major is International Relations/PoliSci, so Art has nothing to do with what I want.

Would I be better off dropping it or keeping the C?

THANKS!

If it shows that you got C,C, withdrawn, then it’s better to leave it since they’ll see that you got a C anyways. It never looks good to withdraw from any class whether it’s important or not. It shows the colleges that you can’t handle certain classes and even in college you’ll have a to take a fine arts requirement.

They take all your subject into account since one of the most important thing they look at is overall GPA.
