Dropping a Class Midyear- Calculus

Hi, I'm having an extremely difficult time in calculus AB right now and I'm considering dropping it. 1st quarter I recieved a C- and this quarter I have an F (1 more month till quarter ends).

I'm a senior and I have 3 other ap's (english and 2 histories) and 1 honors course. Would dropping the course destroy my chances of getting into Virginia Tech? My GPA was a 3.75 and I'm trying to get into general admissions, which I had a chance of doing earlier, but with my f right now it looks like it's gone. Would dropping calc and retaking precalc just ruin my dream of going there? I'm really in need of advice right now. Please help. Thank you.

It seems pretty late in the semester to be dropping courses without incurring some red flag in your transcript that you’ve done so. But if your school lets you do that and does so in a benign way and you’re indeed headed for a failing grade, you would do well to drop it.

Sometimes you just have to cut your losses. You will feel relieved after you are out of there. Regroup and keep going.
