I'm a Freshman Premed at WashU. I'm currently taking 18 credits and the usual premed classes (Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, and Biology 1). I am doing well in my premed classes but I'm also taking Statistics 2200 right now and I'm struggling. I want to drop Stats 2200 and take a W, because I think it would be better for my overall GPA. It would allow me to spend more time in my other classes and not sacrifice all my grades. I plan on retaking the class again next year if I drop it (and hopefully doing better).

I was wondering how dropping the class and taking a W (and retaking it next year) would look on a medical school application. I am hoping they take into account that I am currently taking 6 classes, 4 which are math/science and have a hard schedule. But I was wondering how it would be taken and what the best option might be. Thanks.
