Dropping a class

Now that I've gotten into NU, I've been focusing on keeping my grades up to avoid getting my admission revoked.

So I took AP Physics C thinking that I would become an engineer, but over the summer I changed to business. I got into economics at Weinberg so Physics won't really help any more. I have a terrible relationship with the teacher and I have been getting C's in the class.

Will me dropping the class make me more likely to get my admission revoked? Or I am freaking out for no reason.

^Absolutely not. Just be sure to notify the admissions office so there isn’t any confusion when they receive your final transcript in the summer.

I wouldn’t recommend dropping it at this point, but don’t worry–you’re fine. You have to really **** up to get your admission revoked (ie, get in trouble with the law, get a 2.0 gpa, etc). A C in one class is fine, and Northwestern recognizes how difficult physics C is, especially for someone that isn’t majoring in engineering/physics. If you send them an email and make it clear that you’re at least trying to do well in this class, you should be golden.

Ok, thanks you guys. My friend made a big deal about it like me dropping the class would make NU think I’m a quitter or something.

^Not at all. Just briefly explain the situation to the admissions office and you’re set. I had a few friends who dropped some classes before they were even accepted, and the schools were fine with it.

congrats on northwestern
