so i want to drop one of my high school classes (AP European History), however i wanted to know if it would affect my chances as for as getting accepted to colleges. I have a fairly heavy load, taking AP spanish 4, Bible as lit, yearbook, AP government, and AP Calculus BC. My intended majors are Business and Marketing, and accounting, so AP European History really has nothing to do with my majors. I know I have to send a letter to the colleges that I have applied to and let them know of my change, however I dont know if it would affect my chances of getting accepted or not. I also play multiple sports, have a job, and am participating in an extended community service thing, so my load is by no means light.

I am also in yearbook, and while you may have it as a class, it’s not considered an academic class. Colleges like to see that you continue to have 5 academic classes senior year. If you have a ton of meaningful extracurriculars they might not mind as much, but I wouldn’t drop it.

Yay another yearbook student!
But yeah, don’t drop the class. You should be taking a math, English, history and science class all four years (and a language, but that is a little less important). Also you are already lacking rigor in English and seem to have no science.

Yeah, dropping a class is bad, especially an AP. Heck, I wanted to drop a arts semester class halfway through, but my guidance counselor said it would look terrible. I was even done by with all my arts credits by then.
