I got into Honors Physics. For the first marking period (quarter) I got a C. I've just seen my grade for the first test on the new marking period and I got a straight F. The class consists of her explaining the basic concepts for half a class period, we do a few labs to get the math down and my group speeds by without me. We sometimes do problems in class, and I get very good at those with practice, and I understand the labs with the help of a tutor, but when the test comes she gives us problems we've never seen before. She says we should "think on our feet" and that we "shouldn't memorize things" but I don't know how to study for this class, and she won't give extra help. Those quotes are the answers she gives me when I ask her how to approach a test. I have no idea what to do. I feel like my parents are wasting money on a tutor. I understand what she gives in class, but I'm going to fail. I'm thinking about dropping into regular physics rather than honors, but it will show up on my transcript and I want to be a bioengineer or a doctor (haven't decided, I'm a junior.) What should I do?
